Montessori
MONTESSORI
The Montessori ethos is an educational approach developed by Italian physician and educator Maria Montessori. Montessori developed many of her ideas while working with children in San Lorenzo in Rome. Her approach was characterised by an emphasis on independence, individual choice and respect for a child's natural psychological, physical, and social development. The approach follows the child’s interests and compliments the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
